You Were Never Meant to Fit In

Reclaiming your intuition, your connection with animals, and the truth you were taught to question

I was raised in the Catholic church. The church teaches that animals do not have immortal souls. I beg to differ.

I’m not speaking against the church or condemning it, but I am saying that we can develop different beliefs than what we’re taught. That’s been my experience.

My parents divorced when I was 12 years old, and we ended up leaving the church. Then my path in life took off in various directions, and I’m grateful for that.

I’ve been a seeker of spiritual knowledge, especially since I found myself divorced more than once, had pregnancy losses, and more than my fair share of bumps in the road.

It led me to ask a lot of questions, and wonder why we’re here. It also took me deep into my intuition, which I believe is our connection to the divine.

I guess I’m a rebel because I don’t believe in just listening to “authority”. After all, there are various beliefs – whether in religions, governments or elsewhere.

But I did find myself shying away from my light at times. It happened because I wanted to fit in.

This is part of basic fears we have as humans, and one of them involves the fear of being abandoned by our “tribe”. It’s engrained in us to fit in and feel accepted because in the old days, we needed our tribe for survival.

If you’ve ever felt that push-pull between wanting to be accepted and then rebelling again, this has been me. But there came a time when I was forced to embrace who I was, particularly after a toxic divorce from a narcissist who loved the limelight.

Staying in the background was my comfort zone—until I was forced to step outside my fears and shine my light. And being pushed to do that is a lot less comfortable than choosing to do it yourself.

A turning point was: Being the animal lover that I am, I wanted to connect more deeply with animals. So after years of searching for answers and doing healing work with people, I really dove deep into animal communication.

It happened at the beginning of Covid. It was kind of like: “If we’re all going to die anyway, I might as well do what I really feel called to do”. (Right?)

Because when you get to the point where you realize how short life can be, then it’s time to toss your fears. And that feeling took me to an even deeper level of understanding our connection with animals and how they can help us heal, love ourselves more, and get into alignment with who we really are.

I was doing some horse massage at the time, and started doing energy work and animal communication. Then I went online and started sharing the animal messages to help others heal and find peace of mind with their animal angels.

I then combined all of my healing tools together: Hypnotherapy, energy healing, life coaching and animal communication, to help others. It’s been a transformative experience.

So my advice is: Don’t wait too long to own your voice. Chase after who you are and what you love doing. And do it sooner than later, because time goes by fast.

As empaths and sensitive animal lovers, we can feel like we stick out like a “sore thumb”. But that’s not a bad thing.

There’s a light that shines within us, and the last thing we want to do is to dim that light in our attempt to please others and follow the “rules”. What that does, is it actually stops us from becoming who we’re meant to be.

So shine your light at bright as you can, so that others can see it. It’s how you change the world in your own unique way.

PS: My next post will help you go deeper into shining your light brightly with an intuitively guided meditation.
