How choosing self-love frees us to become who we’re meant to be.
Do you ever feel like you’re being held back, or spinning your wheels about what you’re meant to do in life? Sometimes it shows up as a block or resistance, but often there’s fear lurking underneath.
By the way, this isn’t about judging anyone, because it happens to the best of us. But turning that fear to love creates an awesome shift that propels us forward into an authentic life of purpose.
And this is how animals live on a daily basis. Yes, they do experience fear sometimes if they’re threatened.
Otherwise, they follow their heart, so to speak, and live authentically. It’s us humans that unintentionally put those roadblocks in our own way.
Sometimes fear can even be detrimental to our health. The energy of fear alone can create stress that throws our lives out of balance.
A very personal story is one that involves my brother, who recently passed away. He had slowed down because his hip bothered him.
And he was experiencing pain from his hip issues, but then he became fearful that it was something more. He worried that it might be cancer or something terminal, and he avoided going back to the doctor.
Instead of getting the help he needed, he rested and felt fearful. Eventually, he developed issues from being sedentary, including a pressure sore that went septic. Then unfortunately, his health deteriorated.
And I can only wonder: “If only…” In other words, ‘If only I had pushed him harder to go to the doctor,’ or ‘If only he had broken through that fear of thinking he had a deadly disease that actually didn’t exist.”
It’s so unfortunate, but it’s only through self-love that we can begin to change this. Because the truth is that love is the opposite of fear, and we can’t force someone else to take care of themselves. This is why self-love is so powerful.
Fear is like a void, where love should exist. And when we feel the love for ourselves in a nurturing way, we improve our mental, emotional and physical health.
We also move past the fear that keeps us from living a life of purpose. Because fear holds us back and doesn’t allow us to listen to our heart and where it’s trying to take us.
So whatever you do, remember to love yourself more. Follow the guidance that’s coming through love and not fear.
Have that sense of self-respect that will lead you where you need to go in life. You’ll also find the balance that will keep you happy and healthy. And when you’re feeling good, you’re more effective at doing what you do.
One of the biggest aspects of healing fear with my clients has been uncovering what’s holding them back from living their purpose. When they keep spinning their wheels and aren’t moving forward, it’s usually because there’s a fear from a past experience that’s holding them back.
Once we uncover what that fear is, it can be healed, and then the person is free to live their life in an authentic way. And what a relief it is to watch someone finally move forward after being stuck for far too long.
So know that fear is often the cause of going in circles in life, and it prevents us from helping others when we’re unable to be on track with our purpose. If you suspect that fear is holding you back but you’re not sure, it’s best to get outside help to uncover it.
Because when you do, your whole life will begin to fall into place. Next thing you know, you’ll be getting unstuck, with the freedom to live your best life.
